Spring 2017 Capsule Wardrobe

This year, for my Spring capsule wardrobe, I decided to go with less clothing than I had in my Fall/Winter wardrobe. The reason for this is because there were several items of clothing in my Fall/Winter wardrobe which I never even wore the entire season(s).

I thought about exactly which articles of clothing I needed for my lifestyle (a work-at-home mom) and concluded that 8 (or so) tops & bottoms, as well as a few cover-ups, was more than enough for me.

Unfortunately, some of the items in my capsule wardrobe are showing definite signs of wear and tear.

So, I’ve decided to use Stitch Fix as well as ThredUP in order to replace some of these items. My goal is to eventually replace many of the lesser-quality clothes with higher-quality pieces. After all, if I only have (at the most) 25 items in my wardrobe, they had better be able to survive the season!

I normally purchase all of my clothing at either JC Penney or Walmart. Unfortunately, the JC Penney in our small town is closing down and, while there’s nothing wrong with Walmart’s clothing, (after all, I get all of my casual wear from them), I am craving more variety as far as my clothing choices go.

I have already received two “fixes” from Stitch Fix, and have replaced two items in my wardrobe so far. {Hint: The final outfit in the video above is from Stitch Fix}.  If you’ve never tried Stitch Fix before, and would like to find out more about the program, click here. You may also want to watch the video of my very first Stitch Fix unboxing so you can see the process in action. By the way, if you schedule your first fix using one of the links in this post, I will receive a credit to be applied towards updating my capsule wardrobe. Thank you ahead of time!
