Are you drowning in the laundry? Overwhelmed with the clutter in your home? You are definitely not the only one! Since home organization is my thing, I’m always very curious about what other women experience in their daily lives.
Therefore, I’ve asked 202 people in an online survey about how organized their home is. I’ve asked about which rooms are well organized and which rooms are not. And which spaces need decluttering most? The answers may surprise you… Take a sneak peek at these home organizing statistics!

It turns out that 43% of the surveyed people are not happy about the way their home is organized. They could really get some decluttering and organizing done. The good news is that 12% is happy about the way their home is organized.
The room that needs organizing the most
In my small kitchen, I need to prepare three meaIs a day for three people and one dog. It is by far the busiest room in my home. And the room that needs organizing the most. And guess what? I’m not the only one! For many of the respondents (32%), the kitchen is by far the less organized place in their homes. Followed by the garage and the living room. How organized are we?
Now, this is an interesting question with a promising outcome. Because only 30% say that they don’t clean up their mess right after they’ve made it. This means 70% do clean their mess up right away. And that is really interesting because this is by far the most important thing people with organized and clean homes do. They don’t let clutter pile up. They attack it with a vengeance! Well done!
Furthermore, 60% of the respondents make their beds every day. According to experts, the act of making your bed each morning motivates you to be more productive throughout the day. This is one of 10 Productivity Tips To Help You Get Stuff Done At Home.
And last but not least, I also wanted to know about our laundry habits. Apparently, 25% of the surveyed people do their laundry when they are out of clean clothes. The others will do that between one or three times a week.
Overall, I am really proud! These home organizing statistics prove we are well on our way to becoming truly organized persons! Of course, there is room for improvement, especially regarding the end result (a completely organized home). But every journey begins with a first step!
